You want to check out Homecoming but don’t have anyone to go with or you just want to hang out more with TRiO SSS?

We have the answer for you….

Join Tiffany (TRiO SSS Peer Mentor) at Homecoming Week’s Kickoff Event:

We will meet at the TRiO SSS Office this Monday (10/6) at 5 PM to head over to Harborwalk for the fun festivities!

We hear that there will be some surprises that night so you will want to stick around. Check out attached flyer for more details. HomecomingWeek_On-CampusEvent!

Note: This can count as your one TRiO event for freshmen mentees (but you need to stay AT LEAST ONE Hour which Tiffany will keep track of)

There will be Chant Video, Create signs, USF Chant video, (Attempt) the Largest Soul Train Dance ever, and later there will be Laser Tag!

Getting stressed?

Talk to your professors for additional help or insight on class material.

Talk to academic advisors about options and what you can do to improve your life on campus or in the classroom since they know what the professors are like and they care about you and your success.

Talk to TRiO advisors for ideas on what you can do outside/inside the classroom and about anything else like getting involved on campus because they have great connections, know what is going on campus, and they care about you and your wellbeing.

Talk to your Peer Mentors they can lead you to a resource that will help you and they care about you!

Everyone cares about you, you just need to seek help.

Extra tips:

• Don’t procrastinate!
• Make sure you are getting enough sleep each night (7-8 hours).
• Make sure you are eating healthy!
• Get some exercise in!
• Attend class and stay awake!
• Don’t pull all nighters!
• Make sure to complete assignments and turn them in on time!
• Study in a way that will benefit you (listening to music, going to library, study groups, etc.)
• Talk to your professors and go in during their office hours!
• Ask and seek for help, advice, or guidance!
• Be positive and think in positive ways (i CAN do this! I WILL pass!)
• Don’t wait to the last minute to start projects or studying!
• Get away from distractions.
• Head to TRiO Tutors or the Student Success Center and even talk to your Professor for additional help during office hours.

Join us on Monday, October 13th at 4pm in the TRiO SSS Office (COQ 101) For a workshop on Stress Management and Test Anxiety Learn valuable strategies, tips and tricks to battle that stress and test anxiety! Refreshments will be served:)

Don’t miss the Night at the Bay on Monday October 5th at 8 pm on Harbor Lawn! There will be laser tag, tye-dye shirts, s’mores, and a horse and carriage ride! Plus at 9 pm there will be a fireworks extravaganza! So don’t miss one of the most fun-filled events of the year!

*Reminder you may attend Tampa’s other Homecoming Week Events but you will need your own transportation, the ones I listed will have a bus shuttle to the Tampa Campus from USFSP, they will meet 3pm in front of the USC!
